“Walking in Their Shoes”
Ever wished you were someone else, even just for a little while? I have and still do from time to time. As a child I loved to play “dress-up” and would put on my mom’s heels, stand in front of mirror with my feet being swallowed up by shoes far to big. Even now shoes have the power to carry me into another realm. Shoes can be an outlet for both the designer and the wearer.
Taking old shoes that someone has loved and cherished and repurposing them into a new artistic express has been transformative. Adding layers of wax casts a magical spell over me as I create new memories out of old memories. Walking down memory lane in others shoes has brought a smile to my face that only nostalgia can bring.
